My name is Mackenzie Kara Fenton, I was born and raised in Rhode Island. I am currently a new freshmen at URI and am very excited about it. I chose URI because it was close to home and I am very close with my mom and my little sister. I also chose it because I got in-state tuition. At URI I am studying secondary education and double majoring in math. In school math has always been my strongest subject, so hopefully I can follow that path and finish with a math degree. I aspire to be a teacher because I love kids, and I love learning. I feel that being a teacher not only are you the one response for others learning, which to me is amazing, but you also learn so much from the people that your teaching, so as a teacher your constantly giving, receiving and learning.
I am a very involved person and I love having fun. I have two sisters, I am the middle child. I love playing soccer and tennis, I played both in high school, for tennis I started at number two singles. I live near the beach, so summer is my favorite time of year and going to the beach on a nice day is by far my favorite past time. I love watching movies before I go to bed, my favorite movie is the Holiday, however I love all different genres. California is my second home, and if I don’t stay in Rhode Island when I graduate then I will be moving there. I am thoroughly enjoying URI and love all my classes so far! I hope that things will continue going this well, so I can graduate in 4 years and start my independent life.
